PEGGY BARRETT, LMFT, OTR/L

I have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over 15 years specializing in trauma, depression and anxiety. I have also been a registered Occupational Therapist for 30 + years. My decision to return to graduate school provided a way for me to use my vast experience as an Occupational Therapist in a new way. I have a deep understanding of what it takes to heal the body and mind. My passion to heal has been a life long journey for me.

Creativity has helped me deal with that part of myself that prevents me from living my life to the fullest. Through journaling, automatic writing and collage I have been able to renew meaning and purpose in my life. Creativity has been a way for me to access my unconscious and connect with my essence and soul.

I moved to Santa Monica to study Continuum with Emilie Conrad Da’Oud. It is a form of movement awareness which explores reverberations in the body of the smallest movements, breaths and sounds. This process allowed me to become aware of my body in a deeper way. I found courage to explore what was hidden away in my unconscious and the freedom to express my essence creatively through this unique way of moving.

My qualifications:

Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute
Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from University of Puget Sound
Bachelor of Arts in Recreation from University of Idaho

What I do:

My practice is 100% virtual.
I’m an eclectic therapist using tools that will help you look at old patterns that no longer serve you and find new ways to experience life in a deeper way.
Create a safe space for you to express yourself.
Explore what blocks your creativity and your ability to be your best self.
Develop ways to build a foundation for you to navigate through life’s challenges.
Through the use of automatic writing, dreams, images and symbols together we will explore what lies hidden in your unconscious.
